Mask Palace Intrigue is a collaboration between Olivier Fairfield of FET.NAT and Simon Martinez of Flanafi. The Boiled Records label mates conceived and created Mask Palace Intrigue from Hull, Québec, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, respectively, during the lockdown of Spring 2020. Driven by the news headlines, 'Mask Palace Intrigue' is a visceral response to the hard and illusory realities of our present era. Featuring music written and further articulated by both artists, MPI is an idiosyncratic stew of deep electronic psycho-jazz: a combustible organism of menacing melody and fractured rhythm: formed into a reactive statement on mass distortion: and voiced loudly in support of the Philadelphia Community Bail Fund, where all proceeds will be donated.
